I'm Still Here

I just remembered.

Four days ago, it's been 3 years since the blog started in November 2006.

After the first year, I thought, "Hey, I'm still here. Blogging seems fit for me. No one else would want to listen to me rambling about nonsense in real life,".

Up to the second year, I found that I've written more frequently, received more responses, better English writings and more serious and sensible contents (presumably). Apparently, I grew more committed to this.

Now, reaching the third year of this blog's life, I just think that it is simply amazing that I'm still here. I haven't done the math yet, but I'm pretty sure the rate of entries has decreased. Not that I was planning to quit (well, sometimes) but I always thought that sooner or later I'd lose all reasons to continue this stuffs.

Maybe I haven't finished yet.

Why?

I'm glad you asked.

Because now, I have a super aim - to save the very human civilization.

9 Stuffs of the Week

I haven't really put enough thoughts in naming this type of entry but I'm planning to list down stuffs that interest me in recent, well, weeks maybe - or months, I'm not really sure yet. I like number 9, hence the selected number of items. Top 10 is, well, you can find those elsewhere. Another reason for this such attempt is because it's easy and does not require much effort on writing. Cheap shot for updating this blog.

Maybe this is kinda normal for any blogs. And I think I did attempt such thing before.

Oh well.

1. Defying Gravity by Idina Menzel. It's a song, from the musical 'The Wicked'. I first heard this song from the latest episode of Glee (Yes, I'm still watching it. It does have some good musics.). I googled the original song in YouTube. Found and completely hooked. Ahh, the love for broadway music.

2. Disney's Year of a Million Dreams campaign advertisements. My favourite: Tina Fey as Tinkerbell! Others include Gisele Bündchen as Wendy, Rachel Weisz as Snow White, Scarlett Johansson as Cinderella, etc.

3. I'm reading Lou Marinoff's The Big Questions, and some other books about philosophy, logic and er, well, cheese. It's pretty sweet. My cup of tea anyway. Some of the big questions: How do you know what's right? Are you guided by reason or passion? What is love? Can anyone win the war of the sexes?

4. Time Magazine: Issue November 23, 2009. The best inventions of the year: teleportation (an atom anyway - human teleportation is still impossible.), tweeting by thinking, solar shingle, bladeless fan, cyborg beetle, high-speed helicopter (you know, like Airwolf), a super swimming suit that outraced Michael Phelps, a fashion robot (real creepy) and other cool stuffs.

5. Zeitgeist: Addendum. Well, as you can read from the previous entry. I just gotta love the norm-challenging stuffs. Radical!

6. As long as Tina Fey is on 30 Rock every Friday, she'll always be in this list.

7. Stewie's joke to Brian, "Take your index finger and your thumb, and lightly grip the base of your tail, and run your fingers along the length of your tail." in the latest episode of Family Guy.

8. This sentance has three erors.

9. This list.

Food and Money

I gonna try to write a couple of movies review for this entry. I don't think I have written any movie review in this blog before. Nevertheless, there's always the first time. These two movies I just watched have, well, reached into my whatever inside this hollow masculine body, or head, that screams, "I think I should share this!".

It's a couple of documentary movies: Food, Inc and Zeitgeist: Addendum.

Food, Inc (2008).

This is a documentary film about, well, food - mainly industrialized food industry in the United States. You can find reviews all over the internet about the specific details of this movie. If you read the book "Fast Food Nation", this movie is something like that - with motion graphics.

This movie can open our eyes to what people in the industry do to our food - not the ones you can get from a small friendly butcher house down at Newtown, maybe. This is not the standard hygienic issue about picking up the meat on the dirty floor, throw it back into the cooking pan and serve it to the customer thingy. That is just automatically implied - simple plain unethical people who should be thrown in jail and continuosly raped.

This movie exposes what corporate people do to maximize profit in the meat industry in the United States - to the very source. Due to my inability to focus throughout the movie, I can point out two major things:

Animal abuse - I heard that one of the things that a human being should once in his or her life is to visit an industrial slaughterhouse. You do the math - how would you kill 5,000 cows a day, with least cost? I wonder how is it different in the halal meat industry.

Food cost - It's cheaper to buy a fast-food burger than a healthy lunch salad and broccoli.

Well, there are other things on how small farmers are inable to compete with the giants to provide respectable meat supply, E. coli bacteria, war on national health, etc. The message is simple, really, for me anyway: Do think about it whenever we go a fast-food restaurant, or a supermarket to buy packed meat, try and have a thought where did the meat come from. Do we even have the ability to control it anyway? Do we have the voice to do so?

They will all still do it for profit.

Which comes the next movie: Zeitgeist Addendum (2008).

While the previous movie tells about food, this movie, instead, shows about where money comes from. It opens with the very fundamental weakness in the monetary system that is currently heavily manipulated by the strong corporates. It continues to show how the strong corporates maintain its power on the monetary system and by destroying the economy of the weaker countries. And yes, it is all about profit. This movie leads to eliminate the monetary system and propose a resource-based economy - a moneyless society, and it's named as the Venus Project.

If you find the reviews published around the web about this movie, there's a lot of mixed responses - mainly opposing the idea. Nevertheless, the key thing from this movie is to simply open our minds. Does the monetary system today have been beneficial to the human kind? Can it be developed to fairly serve everyone?

"To see if we cannot radically bring about a transformation of the mind. Not accept things as they are - but to understand it, to go into it, examine it, give your heart and your mind with every thing that you have to find out. A way of living differently."
-Jiddu Krishnamurti-

I like the idea of the moneyless society. Optimistic nonetheless. This is quite similar to my previous entry about guns and butter. Until people start to focus on producing butter, the transtition into a moneyless society is impossible. Try and watch the movie. It's available online anywhere. My advice is not to plainly accept everything - but to sit back, have a cup of coffee and have a thought or chat about it. This is about the future that our children will live in and perhaps, we can do something about it - one voice at a time.

Find the movies and enjoy.

Guns and Butter

"We can do without butter, but, despite all our love of peace, not without arms. One cannot shoot with butter, but with guns."

Well, that was a speech by one of Hitler's closest associates, Joseph Goebbels, during the rise of the Third Reich. Well, as you can see, I'm trying to make a dramatic start to this entry with a speech quoted by the most famous group of evil known to the world.

I found this theory, or actually it's just a model, in macroeconomics stuffs - guns and butter. To put simply, this model states that a nation chooses between the two: invests in military or invests on production of goods or both at determined ratios. Although I'm not very sure whether this is still commonly applied or perhaps it has evolved into a more complex model for the state of economy today. Nevertheless, I don't want to talk about this economic model in particular - just the concept it represents.

Religions aside, we're put in this world to live. Back then, as human civilization started since the stone age, we wake up, hunt, eat, sleep and the cycle continues - at least that's how they depict it in television. Today, we wake up, earn money, buy food, eat, sleep and plus any other stuffs you'd like to do for fun. Well, the point is, back then, there were no guns, only butter - I think. I'm no historian to confirm this.

I'm just trying to say that to the very basic needs of human civilization, we only need butter. Guns are just the power created by human for human so that they can have butter without having to make them themselves. Today, the more power you have, the more butter you can get. It has reached to the point in time, making butter is not as important than making guns.

Well I actually wanted to talk about money. As in, guns is a metaphor for money as the spending power - if you haven't catch my drift.

So, today, the more spending power you have, the more butter you can get. It has reached to that point in time, producing stuffs is not as important as making money. Kids want to be rich. Heck, we all want to be rich. We like to have the sufficient spending power to do things that we actually want - to be richer. While that happens, less people are actually looking into who makes our butter anymore. As long it's available at any supermarket near you, you'll keep on earning money, to buy more butter - to live. Have you watched Food, Inc? I just think that if smarter people in this world keep going into the money-making stuffs, guess who's the idiot been handling our McDonald's Big Mac.

Ok, I'm tired now. Maybe I'll continue next time. For the mean time, my message is just really simple - we're here on Earth to make butter - not guns. Guns do not benefit the very human civilization - butters do.

But guns keep human in order I give you that - nothing more.

Uu, Another Entry

This is the seventh entry of the month. So far this year I averaged 3.9 entries per month (January tops with nine). What happened?

A. Busy.
B. Lack of ideas.
C. Lack of motivation.
D. If I'm writing more than once per month that's good enough.

Busy.

I don't like the word 'busy'. It just a sign of weakness in managing my own time. I try not to use 'busy' as a reason to not do anything (well, not anything - certain things, that I like of course). Nevertheless, I have been busy - and I dislike the fact that I'm still incapable in managing my priorities to do as much things that could make me very happy.

Lack of ideas.

Well, duh. I'm not made of ideas. Although if I could wish for one - I would prefer to be made of money. But hey, another thing that I'm not fond of is money - but that is another story. A long one. Perhaps in the next entry - or next month. So yeah, I'm not made of ideas.

Lack of motivation.

...

See? No motivation even to explain it.

Hey, this is the seventh entry. Hooray!

False Virtue

"Patience is a virtue."

Well, we all have heard of this saying.

"Good things come to those who wait."

"Sabar separuh daripada iman."

Somewhere along those lines.

Many of us believe that we are patience on certain things. Some of us don't get mad easily, have great control of emotions, always looks for the glass half full, etc. All of these are with awareness that the benefit of waiting has an acceptable expiry period - or just simply, a possibility to happen.

"Menunggu bulan jatuh ke riba."

Self-control defines a person - well, to a certain extent of course. I see no problem in rushing into things or wait for another year to catch the bus. If you have a good reason for it, why not? Patience is idiotic if you're willing to wait forever with false hope. Patience is not the best choice if your idiotic daughter raised her voice to you wanting her belly to be pierced. Well, I'm not saying you should go and hit her. I'm saying that delaying responses, whatever that maybe, may not best fit the situation.

Some say false patience.

I say nothing wrong of being angry of the situation. It is human to express disappointment or disapproval. It is inhuman to use that reason to stab another person. It is human to forgive him and prosecute him accordingly. It is inhuman to make sure he'll be tortured and eaten alive by dogs. It is human to make sure it is right to do so.

Patience has limit too. It doesn't give you the right to slap her in the face - but you should not just sleep on it and see what happens.

So many times, I found myself to be the lesser part of this.

If Only You Try

About two weeks ago, I requested a suggestion about what I could write about. So here I am, in response to that, would like to write about weakness. Not necessarily mine - well, it can be but I'm also trying to address the human weakness in general as well. Hence, thank you for the suggestion.

This won't be about physical weakness. Well, maybe it can - I'm not too sure. We'll see how this entry goes. I'm particularly thinking about human weakness of things that you don't want or like other people to know about. Something like our own insecurity. Well, maybe it is exactly our insecurity because we normally are insecure about our own weakness of something. Unless you are insecure of something you are really good at, ... well, that is not covered in this entry. Maybe, next time.

Anyway, weakness can be something that we cannot change and something that we actually can but require tremendous amount of effort. Plus, there's no point talking about weakness that we feel secure about. That's no fun (as if this one is).

Wikipedia defines insecurity to be a feeling of general unease or nervousness that may be triggered by perceiving ourselves to be unloved, inadequate or worthless - whether in a rational manner or completely nuts.

Well, love insecurity is really not my expertise. Well, not that I'm saying I am an expert in other types of insecurity. Just if I can compare my level of crapping about stuffs, this would be the worst. I'm just pro-logic. A loves B plus B doesn't love A equals the relationship is not working out. Hence, just move on.

What can I talk about really?

Inadequacy or worthless. Well, in my own context, I know I'm not the smartest person around, nor even the most athletic or charming whatsoever. The worst? I don't believe so.

Is that a good cure for insecurity? Positive thinking, or some say arrogance.

I'm not even sure that is positive thinking. Not that I'm shouting inside my head, "I am the greatest!". It's more like, "I can do this! I might even be the best. If not, I know I won't be the worst at this. Anyway, I'll be good at this.". Either way, the best choice of action is just do it. The worst thing that could happen is that you'll fail so badly that you'll go down as the worst loser of the century. Other than that, you'll be fine.

Ignorance may be the cure.

"I don't care what you think. I'll do this and you just stay the fire-truck away.".

Stupid.

"I don't care what you think. Just let me go and I'll beat up that polar bear."

Insane.

"I don't care what you think. Just let me go and I'll beat up that polar bear for eating all the fish."

Bad for society.

"I don't care what you think. Just come and help me beat up that polar bear. It ate your fish!"

Well, I don't have an answer for you about insecurity. The way to overcome insecurity is personal to you. We all have our own way to deal with it. Nonetheless, it is perhaps better to lean on the choice that can benefit more than just yourself.

"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind."
-Dr. Seuss-

Tips of the Day

I stumbled across this from a friend's page. It's about a New Zealand police officer offering an invaluable advice in buying a pie from the BP Station at 3 o'clock in the morning.

More police officers should follow his example.

Stay safe everyone - especially when buying pies at the BP Station.

I Hate That I Kinda Like It

I'm in a pretty good mood. Not that my university year is over yet. Well, I did just submitted my core research paper for the year. What's left are still three more reports to go which due on October 19th and November 5th. Then, I'm all done.

Okay enough about me.

So yeah, I'm in the good mood (Well, it is my blog anyway so it's always about me). So I updated my blog template. I did like the previous one I had before. Just, I found some technical difficulties in managing the template and I decided to just simply replace rather than repair.

If only I could draft my own template.

I am now in a good mood. For a number of reasons - tiny ones - enough to lighten myself up to spend some time editing this site.

And by the way, I'm recently enjoying these songs, not that anyone asked:
  • Bruce Hornsby - The Way It Is
  • Dave Matthews Band - Where Are You Going?
  • Go West - King of Wishful Thinking
  • John Mayer - Free Fallen'
Uu, 30 Rock is back. I miss Tina Fey.

Toilet Break

I have a dream.

Or more like an aim, I think.

Or maybe, actually, I have a need.

While the above mentioned sentences implied the same thing, the approach towards the matter would most probably be significantly different.

Sort of that 'the ends justify the means', again - sort of.

Well, in most cases, if not all, I strongly pro 'the ends do not just the means'.

The means, or the approach, taken to reach for a dream, an aim or a need, are as important, if not more, as any part within the process.

Perhaps, even at the end, for many times, the reached dream, aim or need are merely as sweet as the experience in moving towards the established direction.

The emptiness at the end of the line.

Only filled with joy of moving towards it.

Hence, another dream.

Even before the previous one was met.

Poop.

Engage Boringness

I gonna try something here, which may lead to unnecessary embarrassment but I believe the you readers are not that cruel to leave me hanging here.

I wish for a topic to write for my next entry. I would like you readers to suggest me one, or two - please, by all means go nuts. Drop it in the comment section. Throw me a word, a question or anything that can potentially engage any kind of thoughts.

Zero response would lead to the ultimate closing of this blog.

Just kidding. I would not let you decide the fate of this blog.

But really, don't leave me hanging here.

Winner may get a prize?

Well, again kidding.

Seriously, don't leave me hanging here.

This is Pointleast

Well, it’s half past three in the morning and I’m till incapable of sleeping. I’ve been lying (or laying?) on my bed since ten to one and up to six hundred and eighty two kangaroos was counted jumping over the imaginary fence. Still, here I am, browsing through the internet, Facebook, blogs, whatever I can find to keep myself occupied, or just trying to find some boring things to read so I can doze off – oh might as well write my own stuffs to do that. So, here I am.

Mm, let’s talk about ideas. Everyone has ideas for something. Very little times that they are creative as most of the times are just simply common sense, duplicated or just simply pointless. And I’m pretty sure there are many other adjectives to describe it but for this entry, I’m just gonna pick ‘pointless’.

Well, not exactly ‘pointless’ in the sense that it is pointless for us to catch sunlight with our hands. Because we all know that sunlight consists of light particles traveling at a ridiculously high speed in a certain (or multiple?) frequency or wavelength, which we cannot catch with our hands. Or pointless to teach mathematics to Asians. Somewhere along that line heh.

I am referring to the time where pointless is when an issue is prosecuted without evident that it could make anything to be worse or better.

Oh how I love the grey areas.

If you completely ditch the pointless idea, the issue will not be raised and no one has to waste their time thinking how exactly can we catch sunlight with our hands.

However.

If you considered the idea, the idea is raised, but no useful conclusion can be made and a certain someone would be pissed off to waste 20 years of his life trying to find a way to catch sunlight with our hands.

It just simply so tempting as human nature to pick up the former as the common intuitive response to pointless ideas.

Well, I am going no where with this.

This entry may be, in fact, pointless.

I just wish there could be more pointless ideas in this world.

With actions, of course.

Pointless actions. That’s it and here we are.

Freedom

I have this humour book that I borrowed from a friend and haven't returned it after over a year, and there's one joke of the many occupational jokes I would like to share here:

"A diplomat/politician is a person who tells you to go to hell in a way that somehow you're looking forward to that trip."

Something like that. I can't remember the exact words but yeah, something like that. How's that relevant for my entry today? Because it is Malaysia's 52nd Independence Day! And sadly politics is the first thing came into my head.

Yes, sadly.

In previous years, my first few thoughts on Independence Day are usually something about how am I proud to be in a country that is free from external (assuming bad) powers (which is quite naive come to think of it) or thinking have I done enough as a citizen to contribute to a country that has spent so much on my education and welfare? Somewhere along those lines, I think.

Patriotism initiates different thoughts at different times. And today, Independence Day does not make me feel that celebrative. Don't get me wrong. Despite my immigrant's blood, I still love the country and the system that has provide a moderate living for me and my family. I'm just not in that kind of mood to celebrate any achievement either made by myself as a citizen or even the country itself this year.

It's almost the same feeling when I had my birthday this year. Nothing worthy of celebration. That's maybe how I feel about this year's Independence Day. The country and I need to grow up. And perhaps, real soon, we could do a distance worth celebrating in coming years.

Maybe that is exactly my patriotism thought of the year.

Nonetheless.

Happy 52nd Independence Day Malaysia.

Even Van Gogh Can't Do Better

My dad scanned me this drawing and e-mailed it to the whole family. My 7 years old sister drew a family portrait. I thought it's just incredibly adorable.

I miss home.

Since 1000 Days Ago

I was supposed to continue from my previous article - something about philosophy and politics. Well, I'm still tired (not from previous entry but just for today) and not in the mood to write anything today.

Today.

Today is a special day for me, and especially this blog.

Blog.

This blog has finally reaches its 1000th day.

Thank you.

I'm just really tired. I'll write more about it later.

Later.

Procrastination rules.

I'd Fly for a Roti Canai Mamak

I may not be a student of philosophy or even an avid fan of political studies. Nonetheless, the topic for today may fall under these categories and accordingly, cautious readers may adjudicate the credibility of the writer of this story which I wish to tell.

Anyhow.

Let me start with something that I’m more familiar with – sustainability.

Well, allow me to quote the most widely use definition:

“Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
-Brundtland Report in 1987-

Anyway, keep this inside your head while you keep on reading this entry. Do also remember that this is not an academic writing. Hence, I may not refer to any external knowledge anymore and thus, again, you may critic the credibility of this entry, take the knowledge you may get from it and shove it up your a**.

One particular thing that is most commonly relates to sustainability is energy efficiency. This includes electricity, petrol, and all types of fuel – perhaps even your own, energy I mean. There are numerous perceptions on what efficiency really is. For the purpose of this entry, I will use one of them, which reference is ignored due to limitation of memory:

“Efficiency is when you can do more things with the same resource,”
-Somewhere from someone-

In other words, instead of flying to Istanbul to grab a kebab, now with the same amount of fuel with an efficient personal jet (assuming you own one), you can continue flying to Paris to grab an Escargot Bourguignon, then off to Madrid for a delicious Seafood Paella and a quick stop at Zurich for a warm Chocolate with Cheese Fondue (I think that’s the right name for it, not too sure).

To put simply, with efficiency, you can do more things with the same amount of resource you have, which goes back to the earlier stated simpler definition (which instead I chose to elaborate on with such a long and unnecessary description of famous international cuisines).

This concept tracks back to the time when steam engine was invented by James Watt around early 18th century. This perhaps may be the key point of human civilization when this particular innovation initiated the Industrial Revolution in UK during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Transportation, manufacturing, agriculture and many industries started to grow at a significant rate and remarkably changed the social economic in Europe, America and subsequently the rest of the world.

In simpler term, human activities grew rapidly. Consequently, human population increased at a much different rate than before. Thus, with more activities, and greater population growth, more resources are necessary. The initial idea of an efficient transportation envisioned by the genius invention of the steam engine created more potential human activities and consequently created more demand for more resources. Instead of one kebab made with bread, meat, vegetables produced with electricity, gas, water, and so on, now with the idea of efficiency, we can also have an escargot, paella and a fondue made of more resources, i.e. more electricity, gas, water, etc.

Oh, which part of this entry actually relates to philosophy and politics?

Well, I’m tired. Maybe next time I’ll continue to finish this entry.

In the mean time, to wrap up this entry, think about this: at this time of human civilization, it doesn’t make that much difference if you buy a petrol efficient car, energy efficient buildings, or turn off your lights for one hour in a year. When you see a sale by the retail store, $10 for 3 pairs of Ted Baker’s jeans, if you believe that human, in general, will buy only one jean for a less than $4 instead of grabbing all 3 pairs of them, let’s start talking about saving the planet.

Still, chill fellas.

It Doesn't Have to Make Sense

Clarity.

“All those who sit quietly during the test may go outside and play afterward,”

We often take its meaning from the context both his or her experience and our own. In other words, with common sense, built from our own experience and perception through growing up ('in other words' does not necessarily mean it have to be shorter or simpler).

First thing come to mind is that the person who doesn't sit quietly during the test may not go outside and play.

No?

Maybe he forgot to add another sentence that the person who doesn't sit quietly during the test will be shot to death.

Nonetheless, our own experience will tell us that the person who doesn't sit quietly during may not go outside and play - and we strongly believe so.

Maybe not in this adult age anymore.

I don't know about you but I'm fan of the underdogs, which includes sports teams, the antagonists, races and sometimes unfortunately, solutions to life's problems.

How's this entry so far relates to anything?

Well, it doesn't have to be if you're still confused. Those who seem to understand this perfectly is the target audience for my writing today.

And I don't mean those deep and complicated people.

Just the silly ones.

Not Too Busy

Three weeks I've been ignoring this site.

Busy? Not really.

Couldn't be bothered? I can't say that I haven't.

Ideas? There's plenty of stuffs to write about. Trivial and important matters. Personal and fictional issues. Academic or just plain boring stuffs.

If only I can just scan my thoughts and have it automatically uploaded to this site.

Inconvenient? I sit in front of the computer everyday! (Well, who doesn't?)

Anyway, I'm not in a mood to elaborate about anything. Maybe I could just drop some topics I had in mind for the past 3 weeks. Possibly will find time later to further explore the stuffs below:

Iran's Election - I have great respect for Ahmadinejad, as an outsider looking at a man's exterior strength and marketed admirable philosophy. However, when it comes to leading a country, ... well, I want to say an insider should have a better opinion but half the chance if you meet any Iranian, they will, too, have split views. Hence, possibly mine's ain't that bad either. Nonetheless, I'll keep it to myself for now.

Twitter - I haven't got myself into this thing yet. Perhaps, soon. The idealistic concept is fascinating. TinaFey39 says "I just tried the new McPrime at McDonalds and it was awesome,". Less than 140 characters, simple, honest and quick. I heard the riot, or possibly just an organized gathering by the oppositions during post-election in Iran was largely arranged through Twittering.

Ricky Rubio - The Spanish basketball wonderkid was picked at no.5 by Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA Draft 2009. Rumour has it that the 19 years old prodigy possibly won't be playing in the NBA next season due to many issues that I'm pretty lazy to list down here. Sufficient to say that I'm a big fan and I'm very disappointed if I have to wait for another year to watch the kid conquer the NBA courts.

Transformers 2 - I gonna be honest here. Many would disagree, but here's what I think. The movie is great. However, Star Trek is still my number one movie so far this year. I never followed the original TV series nor I am a fan. I just simply think the movie is better.

There you go. Apparently, this entry is quite long. I thought I just wanted to have a short update. Oh well.

Tolong~

I thought this is funny. Well, at least for our friends of Wellington anyway. Enjoy :D

He'll forgive me later.

On Wishing for the Better

I've been checking my posts for the past, well, 2 years and a half, (I used this time date calculator thingy on the internet to calculate how old is my blog and I just found that in 2 months, my blog will be 1000 days old. I should do something special.), ... oh, yeah for the past 2 years and a half, I've never written anything about my birthday. Earlier this week on Tuesday, was my 21st.

...

Ok, it was my 24th.

So, another year before making, in God's will, the Silver Jubilee. I'll leave out the future anticipation for now and let's look back to the past and see if I've done anything I can be proud of.

...

Not my favourite subject for retrospection.

However, it was certainly a better year than before. I think I've become more mature, more intellectual on certain things, better in making decisions, to name a few. Nonetheless, there are things that I would like to see less in me - self-absorption, procastination, ignorance, etc. It is quite common that we, as humans, want to be better everyday. We have idols to inspire us to be better: leaders, visionaries, athletes, fictional characters, friends, etc. I have a fictional character as mine. Hint: he's fluffy heh.

For cliche's sake, what do I wish for my 24th birthday?

I wish to be happy. Ok, that's lame. A real wish, ok, I wish to find a companion. At this point, it's not necessary be a female. Although I'd prefer a girl than another bloke. No, I'm not implying my tendency of being a bisexual. I just wanted to throw that out for the fun of hinting it (Dude, haram do). The wish is to find a companion - a great one. I'd wish it to be a girl, then it'll be super awesome because it's been a while since I had a great company. A girl (or a woman. Since I'm 24 now most probably all females I'll be hanging around with is reaching that threshold) that I'd love to spend my vast priority in life - to adore her, to spoil and to care for.

If it's a bloke, well, to become the wing man - to find the girl, hah. (Chap, if you actually ever read this, know it that it's your job)

In fact, well, I haven't finish university yet. How about we postpone that wish and change it to graduate and finish my academic life for good, in flying colours.

She can wait.
